EFTCC @ DCPA Field Target match Schedule for 2008 EFTCC holds FT Matches in NY and will also be holding matches at other sites, in other states. All EFTCC Field Target matches are limited to a 20 Foot Pound output energy limit measured at the muzzle, and single lead projectiles only. This is to protect the participants and the targets. Typically, we award for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Open/PCP, Spring Gun, Junior (15 and under), Off-Hand (Standing), Hunter and Pistol Classes/Divisions. The Hunter Class (H.C.): We had a post match meeting (5/6/2007) and the participants voted to follow the full AAFTA Hunter rules as they are now (at our regular matches) to assist in evaluating them and giving feed back to AAFTA. They are as follows:
The Pistol Class: Any Air Pistol shooting at or below 20 FTLBs using any sight (Laser sights are allowed) and no shoulder stock. Scoring system for the Pistol Class is as follows: 2 points for a knocked down target, 1 point for a hit on metal, and 0 points for a complete miss. Designated shooting positions must be used on the designated lanes. Any shooting position as allowed on any of the non-designated lanes but the pistol must be supported solely by the shooters body just as in the rifle classes and the AAFTA Rules. It is encouraged that shooters use binoculars to view where the Kill Zone is on the target. Shooting Two Classes: Any Adult shooter can shoot 2 classes during the match by pre-registering for the 2 classes. The shooter will then be 2 of the squad participants in the (usually) 3 man squad. No 2 participants shooting 2 classes will be squaded together as that would result in a 4 shooter squad. A different gun must be used for each class. The Order of classes to be shot is as follows: Hunter, Pistol, Standing, Piston/Spring, Open/PCP with no exceptions. This is to maintain fairness for the individuals that would only be shooting one class. As an example it would not be fair for a shooter to participate in the Open and Hunter classes and then Shoot the Open class first to range find the targets and then shoot the Hunter class Second. Classes must be shot in the order designated above. Trial Classes:
There has been much talk on the forums about what classes should be and new
classes that should be started or tried. EFTCC supports new trial classes so
lets see what ideas you have. Email me your rules for the class you want to try
at least 48 hours in advance and have at least 3 shooters show up and shoot the
class. It's that simple. Your rules for the class and 3 shooters will make it
happen so let's see what you've got and how it works out. We currently run 6
Divisions/Classes but are always willing to hear new ideas so bring it on.
The following match dates are scheduled at DCPA. 2008 January 27th, 2008 - Sunday ~
Traditional
Mid-Winter Indoor/Outdoor Off-Hand Only Match. The competitors will be
within the confines of the heated shooters building while the targets will be
outside in the frigid conditions. (planned 40 shots)
Keep checking back as we are thinking of adding a few specialty matches. Sight in lanes will
open at 8:30AM, and the match will start at 10AM. Entry fee will be $10 for
Adults and $5 for Shooters that are 16 y/o and under
and $5 for the Second Class shot for
each day of shooting collected before the beginning of the match. Yes that is
right you can shoot 2 classes during the match but you must use 2 different guns
and you must shoot the harder class first. Order of classes to be shot is
Hunter, Pistol, Standing, Piston, Open with no exceptions. Juniors can not
shoot 2 classes. Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in Open/PCP, Spring Gun, Hunter, Standing, Junior (15 y/o and under), and Pistol Classes/Divisions. Note: Classes that are scored using the 2,1,0 scoring method are not eligible for the Top Gun award, when available.

It is very satisfying to see and hear the target fall down.
